This is the first time to read a book by author Adina Senft and I absolutley enjoyed Wounded Heart In fact I enjoyed it so much I bought the other two, although I don't typically spend that much on a kindle book.The author's ability to pull you into Amelia's world, feel her pain, frustration and renewed hope is just amazing. The thoughts of the main character are real, powerful and resonate. Example and a direct quote: "How could anyone hold an offense close to her heart when the so-called offender was willing to humble herself so?" and "this lump of anger lay inside her like a rock under a smooth running steam."These three books center around best friends Amelia, Carrie and Emma, now approaching their 30's. Each book focuses on one woman, but we get to read about all three of them in each. Their intense devotion to each other, their God and community, and their friendship that is a bedrock for each other was a joy to read. I found myself amazed over and over again at the author's ability to put words together in such a way that they resonated at my core. I think of all the Amish genre books I've read, (and I've read 100's) these three are the best.A truly enjoyable read.
